This scheduled Kenya Uganda safari starts from Nairobi in Kenya through the country’s most promising areas visiting national parks and Masai migration, continues to Uganda for more thrilling experiences where you track chimps and endangered mountain gorillas. Gradually return via Jinja with the chance to enjoy thrilling white water rafting, and finally finish in Nairobi.

From Nairobi, head to the Masai Mara National Reserve. Enter this huge area of spectacular game viewing to photograph some of Africa’s most abundant wildlife. Famous for the annual migration of around 1.5 million wildebeest, the Masai Mara is also home to many other animals, including lions. Head into the Mara with small bags for overnight excursion and on day 2 spend the day in the park game driving and exploring the rolling grasslands to search for some of the wonderful animals found here such as elephant, black rhino, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, gazelle and the ever–present predators.

After a final game drive in the early morning light, the trip takes you to Lake Nakuru National Park, where you will enjoy an afternoon game drive through the park looking out for some of the huge flocks of flamingos the park is famed for. After all this head to Uganda for yet another interesting show.

After a quick stop in the city of Kampala, head in the direction of the Murchison Falls National Park. Also referred to as the Kabalega Falls, a waterfall found on the course of the great Nile and are located within the Murchison Falls National Park. The park is recognized as one of the best National Parks in Uganda.

Take a guided trek through the beautiful forest in search of chimpanzees – these entertaining and often noisy primates are found in Budongo Forest within the largest Mahogany Forest found in the whole of East Africa. It is believed that there are between 600 – 700 chimpanzees in Budongo, the largest number in Uganda. We will also enjoy a game drive through the park in search of the great diversity of wild animals.

Travel south west to the beautiful scenery of Lake Bunyonyi. With eager anticipation you prepare for the upcoming gorilla trekking excursion and tonight you will receive a briefing on what to expect for the next few days. Although there are 2 days allocated to gorilla trekking you will only spend one day on the trek – treks can be from 45minutes to several hours as we climb up amongst the forest, tracking and listening to see where the gorilla family may be – it is one of the most humbling and rewarding wildlife experiences available and one that will stay with you for years to come. During that time, you learn about the lives and culture of the Nyoma Village Pygmies.

Unwind your fatigue from Jinja. Jinja offers many exciting activities and your guide will assist you to plan for this day. Most activities are focused around the water of the Nile and these include rafting, kayaking and a variety of cruises on Africa’s largest river. For those who may be less inclined to water sports can enjoy a highly–recommended horse ride, or a quad bike adventure on dry land.

Returning to Kenya you visit Eldoret shortly, the country’s 5th largest city and then head back to Nairobi for your flight.
