Maasai Mara National Park is the best place in Kenya to view a large number of Wildebeests. During July, August, September and October are the best months to view the Wildebeests in excess since during those months, over 1.5 million Wildebeests migrate from the Serengeti plains in Tanzania to access the MAASAI MARA in Kenya of which the two lie on the same ecosystem called Serengeti-Mara-plains thus enabling the wildebeests to access the Kenyan plains of Maasai Mara in absence of pastures in Tanzania’s SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK.

During the Wildebeest migration trails to Maasai Mara, other wildlife species such as; over 500,000 Thomson’s gazelles, 200,000-plus Zebras, 97,000 Topis and over 18,000 Elands join the large number of Wildebeests to access the park in Kenya in search of virgin pastures which would be inadequate in Serengeti plains.

The Mara River separates the two parks and through the River, is where a large number of wildlife with the Wildebeests being the most dominant use to access the Maasai Mara National Park thus making the park to be flooded with a lot of Wildlife and making it more attractive in that during that period of Wildebeest migration travelers to the park experience something which is rarely found in any other park in Africa and Kenya.

Though the migration is mostly famous and popular as a Wildebeest migration since they are the major and dominant migrants but also other species such as Zebras, Elands, Topis and Thomson’s gazelles plus others are viewed during the migration though at a least number as compared to the major migrants (Wildebeests).

Since the park’s migrants access the Park through the Mara River which is known as a home to a greatest number of Crocodiles and hippos in East Africa, they face a problem of these predators however since they migrate in high numbers, still they access the Park in high quantity and tourists will have a great chance to view them in an exceptional quantity.

This migration looks more spectacular when the species are crossing the Mara River to access the Park since they display a lot of their distinct colors especially the Zebras of which the colors are impressive to the eyes of every traveler in the Park. Thus during the period of Wildebeest migration is the best time to visit the MAASAI MARA NATIONAL PARK/RESERVE because you will view an excessive number of Wildlife invading the Park thus getting a great experience from your tour.

The Wildebeest migration is one of the things that make this park to be one of the best destinations in the whole of Africa since during the migration, many other wildlife species are viewed in large quantities while on safari in Kenya.

The park is therefore East Africa, Africa, and Kenya’s best destination for wildlife safaris due to its exceptional diversity in that in the same Park, travelers will still view all the big five wildlife species of African continent which include; the African elephants, African lions, Rhinos, African Leopards and the Cape buffaloes which are also viewed in large numbers together with other species such as; Impalas, Masai giraffes, Cheetahs, Hyenas, Jackals, Coke’s hartebeests, Grant’s gazelles, Large roan antelopes and many others.

The balloon safaris in the park are also of a great experience once you visit the Park. All those make this park a pride of Kenya and one of Africa’s finest. Hence for a visitor willing to visit this park is asked to book as earlier as he could because it invites a large number of tourists especially during the great Wildebeest migration which happens from July to October.

In viewing the Wildebeest migration and other activities in the Park are guided with well trained Masai Park guides to help you enjoy your tour comfortably and the Park is made up of various accommodations where also on their verandas you will still have a spectacular sight to the great migration of Wildebeests together with other species.
